It seems just about impossible that fall is here already–2013 really has gone like the wind! But indeed, it is. As I drove to the office this morning, I noticed that the spider lilies are blooming along Swan Walk here at the park, and they herald the arrival of autumn as certainly as the Japanese magnolias do in spring.
This weekend, get out and enjoy two special Sumter events that are unlike anything you’ll find anyplace else–“Porches of Sumter: Simply Delicious,” hosted by the Sumter Chamber of Commerce, and “Fall for the Arts,” brought back after several years’ absence by the Sumter County Cultural Commission.
Each event offers the opportunity to explore some of our community’s unique treasures–fine old homes, or fresh new artists, and everything in between. For more info on “Porches,” please call the Chamber of Commerce at (803) 775-1231. To get the scoop on “Fall for the Arts,” call Patriot Hall at (803) 436-2260.
At this time of year, noted for its color and beauty, get out and enjoy some of both!
