It’s chili time again! But wait…it’s always time for chili, isn’t it? So, please allow me to revise that statement—it’s time for the annual Chili Cookoff and Beer Tasting, hosted by the Young Professionals of Sumter. With live entertainment by Virtually Unshockable, a chili competition, and more than 30 beers available for tasting, this year’s party is bound to be one of the best so far. It takes place on Friday, March 8, when the fun starts at 6 p.m. and continues until 10.
Now in its fourth year, the Cookoff is becoming a highly anticipated occasion. In fact, it’s grown so much that this year’s event will be held at a new venue, the Nettles Building at USC Sumter. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and can be picked up at the Sumter Chamber of Commerce at 32 East Calhoun Street. For more info, call (803) 775-1231. USC Sumter is located at 200 Miller Road in Sumter. To get to the Nettles Building, turn right at the Arts & Letters Building and follow the signs.
And by the way, does anyone agree with me that chili always tastes best when it’s cold outside? Join the Young Professionals of Sumter, sponsors H&S Wholesalers, Virtually Unshockable, and hundreds of friends for a cool night of hot chili, cold beer and a great time!
