The Palmetto Pro Open, which is scheduled to run through May 27, is in its fifth year as a major US Tennis Association Pro Circuit event, bringing players from around the world. Previous winners have gone on to participate in Wimbledon and the US Open, so it’s definitely the place to catch a rising star in the tennis world.
Also…just in case you haven’t noticed, it’s been storming lately. A lot. And it’s supposed to keep doing it into next week. But as of right now (Wednesday morning), the forecast for Saturday is pretty nice.
However, this is South Carolina, so a backup plan is always good to have. Fortunately, there are some pretty cool things happening indoors, too—for example, the Sumter Little Theatre’s guaranteed-to-be-hilarious production of “Dearly Departed,” the annual Carolina Backcountry Springtime at the Sumter County Museum, and a huge Indoor Yard Sale at the Sumter County Civic Center.
