Has it been BLISTERING outside, or what?! While the South is known for its mild winters and hot summers, the last couple of weeks have been really extreme—temperatures have hovered close to record highs (and I don’t even want to think about August).
The City of Sumter Aquatics Center is open for the season and ready to invite guests for a cool dip and water fun for the whole family. With a twister slide, splash fountain, kiddie pool and lanes of cool, cool water, it’s a great way to get outdoors and stay comfortable. Open Swim for the general public is Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 1:30 to 6 p.m. The Center also offers “Family Swim” nights on Sundays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for kids ages 3-12, and free for ages two and under. Season passes are also available at a terrific discount.
The Aquatics Center is also available for private rentals, and a variety of programs take place in addition to regular water fun–swim lessons, water exercise, lifeguard training and more. For more information, visit the website at http://www.sumtersc.gov/visitingus/aquatic.aspx.
And come on in…the water’s fine!
