Beer…bratwurst…polka… Tickets are flying out the door for October 15’s first-ever Oktoberfest on Main, presented by Hamptons restaurant and with additional sponsorship by First Citizens Bank and Stokes-Craven Automotive. From 6-10 p.m., Main Street is the place to be for fun, friends, music and beer. Brass to the Future, led by the talented Tyler Cook, will provide oompah music, and will be followed by the smooth sounds of Still Cruzin’ until 10 p.m.
Hamptons will also host an “after party,” beginning at 10 and going strong until 2 a.m. at their “Main Room” on Main Street. In addition to a performance by Ten Toes Up, the after party will offer a variety of German beers on tap and a German wine tasting.
The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich, Germany in 1911, and has since become a much-anticipated fall event all over the world. Sumter’s event promises to be a great celebration! Tickets are $10 per person, which includes a commemorative mug and first beverage. A variety of food and drink will be for sale. Tickets to the after party are available for an additional $10.
I would pay more than $10 to see Tyler sporting Lederhosen in public, but maybe that’s just me. He says it’s not going to happen!
Tickets are available now at the Swan Lake Visitors Center, Hamptons and Seaco Music…but hurry, because they won’t last long!
